CHARACTERISTICS AND MATERIALS
• Polycotton fabric sling with an elbow support.
• Immobilising chest strap with Velcro® fastening and padding in the central part.
• Shoulder strap with Velcro® fastening and padding in the central part.
APPLICATION
INITIAL FITTING
1 Undo the Velcro® fastenings on the chest strap and shoulder strap.
2 Place the bent arm in the fabric sling (fig. 1).
3 Pass the shoulder strap (black) over the opposite shoulder (fig. 2a),
place the tip through the corresponding black ring, and fasten with
Velcro® (fig. 2b).
4 Shorten the strap if necessary by cutting off the excess part (fig. 3a)
and reattach the Y-Velcro® fasteners (fig. 3b). Check that the padded
part remains centrally positioned to protect the neck.
5 Pass the (white) chest strap around the patient’s chest, place the tip
through the corresponding white ring (fig. 4a), and fasten with Velcro®
(fig. 4b).
6 Shorten the strap if necessary by cutting off the excess part (fig. 5a)
and reattach the Y-Velcro® fasteners (fig. 5b). Check that the padded
part remains centrally positioned.
SUBSEQUENT WEAR
7 Undo the Velcro® fastenings on the chest strap and shoulder strap.
8 Place the bent arm in the fabric sling (fig. 10).
9 Pass the shoulder strap (black) over the opposite shoulder (fig. 11a),
place the tip through the corresponding black ring, and fasten with
Velcro® (fig. 11b).
10 Pass the (white) chest strap around the patient’s chest, place the tip
through the corresponding white ring (fig. 12a), and fasten with Velcro®
(fig. 12b).
