PUTTING ON THE APPLIANCE
ADAPTING FOR THE DOCTOR/TECHNICIAN
1 Open all Velcro® straps, remove them from the corresponding buckles and close them temporarily on themselves.
2 Sit the patient with the knee flexed at about 30°, put the brace on the limb and move the center of the joint about 1–2
cm above the center of the patella (fig. A).
3 Fasten strap # 1 (fig. B and C).
4 Fasten strap # 2 (fig. D).
5 Push the joints downwards by about 1 cm (fig. E). Note: The joints are positioned behind the bent knee because, when
each strap is fastened, they move forward, until the brace is correctly positioned on the leg.
6 Fasten straps # 3 through # 5, in order (fig. F).
7 Have the patient stand and fasten strap # 6 (fig. G).
8 Ask the patient to walk and bend the knee.
9 Make sure the condylar supports fit tightly around the joint.
10 Check that the hard thigh- and leg-grips fit tightly around the muscles without causing excessive pressure.
11 If necessary, adjust the brace to the patient’s limb:
• Modify the structure so as to perfectly suit the anatomy of the affected limb (fig. M-N), (using bending irons).
• It is also possible to add shims in correspondence with the condyles in order to adapt the orthosis to the individual knee.
One anatomically shaped condylar pad is premounted on the brace medially (at the inner side of the Knee) and one
thin pad laterally (on the outer side of the knee).
Two thick condylar pads and one thin condylar pad are included in the package, to substitute the pre-mounted ones
if necessary.
FLEXION-EXTENSION ADJUSTMENT
A Open the hinge cover by sliding the two half-covers to the side (fig. H), remove the central locking component (fig. I)
and insert/replace the wedges to the required degree of flexion/extension (fig. L)
B Replace the central locking component (fig. I) and slide the two half-covers towards the centre until they securely
“click” into place (fig. H)
IN CASE OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE STOP 0°/10°/20°/30°
C First insert the extension wedge (the one with only one notch), then the flexion wedge (the one with two notches).
D If there are any difficulties inserting the second wedge, scrape off any paint present in the brace slot or file the wedge
notches.
REMOVING THE BUCKLES (OPTIONAL)
E Remove the pad from the frame;
F From the inside, undo the screw belonging to the buckle you wish to remove;
G Remove the rivet and the buckle.
PUTTING ON THE APPLIANCE FOR THE PATIENT

2 Sit with the knee flexed at about 30°, put the brace on the limb and move the center of the joint about 1–2 cm above
the center of the patella (fig. O).
3 Fasten strap # 1 (fig. P).
4 Fasten strap # 2 (fig. Q).
5 Push the joints downwards by about 1 cm (fig. R). Note: The joints are positioned behind the bent knee because, when
each strap is fastened, they move forward, until the brace is correctly positioned on the leg.
6 Fasten straps # 3 through # 5, in order (fig. S).
7 Stand up and fasten strap # 6 (fig. T).
8 Walk around bending the knee a few times.
9 Make sure the condylar pads fit tightly around the joint, and that the hard thigh- and leg-grips fit tightly around the
muscles without causing excessive pressure.

Washing instructions:
• Frame: Clean using a sponge with lukewarm water and a neutral soap. Then dry with a cloth
• Padding: Remove the padding and clean in lukewarm water with a neutral soap. Dry away from heat sources.
• Check screws for tight fit regularly
• Do not dispose of the product or any of its components into the environment.
